100 Years of High Quality Childcare and Education
A century ago, North Avenue Day Nursery opened its doors to provide childcare services for immigrant families working in factories along Milwaukee Avenue. Today, the Nursery continues this vital commitment through comprehensive, high quality educational and childcare services for low-income families in Chicago’s West Town neighborhood and surrounding communities. Accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). North Avenue Day Nursery is a non-profit organization comprised of (1) Preschool Day Care, (2) School-Age Day Care, and (3) Day Care Homes. The importance of early education to the developmental success of our children is paramount. Meeting this need for excellent childcare programs takes significant commitment and financial resources. Escalating operating expenses coupled with stagnant federal and state funding are just a few of the hurdles the Nursery faces. As you might imagine, given the struggling economy, North Avenue Day Nursery’s resources are stretched thin. This is why the Nursery needs your financial support.
